High School reunioning

I think one can officially feel old after experiencing a 10-year high school reunion. Everyone was totally the same...but so different and grown up. Catie and Megan were totally my good friends in junior high, so it was fun to catch up a little with them. I have no idea who the other girl is...

So yeah, first of all, I was talked into going to the reunion by my friends at the seminary reunion who were going and assured me that it would be a great time. It's funny how some things never change from high school, i.e. the need to have a companion at social events, so as not to look like a total idiot loner. The first half an hour I was being really timid, and thinking of all the things I could've spent my $60 on, when all of the sudden, I found myself talking to someone, and then someone else, and then someone else, and three hours later I was really happy that I had gone!

My favorite reaction from "catching up" with people came when I told them I had three kids, and yes, the oldest was 6 1/2. Upon later reflection, I should've told people that I really had gone to college, had a Master's degree even...I didn't just graduate from high school and start having babies. But it's all good, I guess people can think what they want to think.

I envy you your Master's Degree! I am one of those people that got married right out of high school (6 months after graduation actually) and started having babies. I could have, should have, finished college. So congrats for that! (And for your beautiful family!)

I thought the same thing Mel, about only talking about my kids, but honestly they are my greatest accomplishment - way better than any degree (even though a degree is a good thing).

i think that other girl might be nicole ramey--she went to my elementary school.

so glad you went to the reunion. mark and i were just talking about how you're one of the smartest people we know--master's degree and kids and all!

hopefully some of the highschoolers will stop by here.

My reunion was this year too. We're old and we both have three kids but you are totally amazing for having your Master's degree too. I'm so glad you joined the blogging world so we can stay in touch.
